Book Introduction
We would like to introduce books published in the “What can be done in the English classroom” seminar series hosted by WILL.
The classroom should not simply be a place for the transmission of knowledge or the acquisition of skills, but a space for encounters and a time for creativity. But what can be done in the real world in English classrooms? What possibilities are there? This book brings together concrete proposals and lively debates from experts on the question of “what content should be covered in Japanese English classrooms, and how and why,” including examples of curriculum guidelines, the appeal of “language” as a teaching material, cross-cultural understanding, the use of ICT, collaborative lessons, classroom activities, and the use of textbooks.
